Project One-A&B(Space out-The material cube)
The project of building material was about the learning of materials that uses basically in construction purpose , this project was kind of introduction for us to get familiar with the materials and the way of construction.we were required to make Two Cubes , one paper based and the other wooden cube, some materials were listet in the briefing sheet and we had the chance to choose one and build our cubes.In the A part of the project we had to make paper cube and for the B part of the project it was the wooden cube.
out comes for this project:
* Recognize how intrinsic forms, limitations and boundaries of a material factor in a design process.
* Effectively work with a material in line with design requirements
* Be able to express a material within its contextual application
Project Two-A(Materiality of space: An experimental exploration)
This project was about to find some places , and then we had to take pictures of the materials that had been used in the building, also make some boards about the plan of the building the elevation , and the information of the building , we chose an apartment and we started with the materials that had been used in this unit , then we made a board about the plan and the shape of this house , and after that we had improved our analyses and updated all the information and finally we reached to the point that we had done all the required things.
Out comes of this project :
• Produce a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to physical and chemical properties.
• Identification of various types of building material (Finishes and Structural).
• Understand the effects of building materials on aesthetics and structural qualities of a space or building.
Project Two-B (Materiality of space: An experimental exploration)
In this project we had to choose an old structured building and take pictures of the materials used in this building and also do some analyses on the building itself , we had to experience the atmosphere of the building , we had to understand the reason of usage of those materials , also we had to see further than it is visible to other regular people , we had to see the shadow and light parts of the building also , finally we had an amazing experimental project which in my opinion helps more than any other kind of teaching and studying.
Out comes of this project :
• Produce a complete documentation and analysis of materials in respect to physical and chemical properties.
• Identification of various types of building material (Finishes and Structural).
• Understand the appropriateness of material used in context several factors occupancy, concept, climate.
• Acquire analytical skill in understanding selection of building materials for a building/design.
